Finger Exercises Using Part Of The A Natural Minor Scale
Even though you wouldn’t strictly call these exercises A minor patterns, they do take four notes directly from the A natural minor scale as shown in the picture below (red notes).
Ideas like this gives you an opportunity to practise chromatic style finger exercises to musical backing tracks. In fact you can get real creative with these ideas and turn them into licks or make use of them in your solos for a bit of a dark sound.
The following exercises are great for building finger dexterity. They are basically the same four notes played in various permutations. There are countless ways you could mess around with these four notes, don’t restrict yourself to just those listed here. Also experiment by playing them all picked, all hammer-ons pull-offs etc.
The Tabs are all shown as eighth notes. The audio samples play eight notes and then sixteenth’s. All samples are at 80BPM
